The pipe replacement work which started in September is now entering its final locations; this work is important to improve the resilience of the heating system on Highfield Campus, and the University thanks everyone for their patience whilst this essential work is carried out.

From Thursday 3 January 2019 there will be works in the following places:
- The existing working areas between Building 35 and Buildings 30/29 (Chemistry). It is hoped that Admin Road will be re-opened by the end of January. Footpaths in this area will be progressively reopened as soon as they are completed.
- Digging up the footpath on the southern side of the Students’ Union Shop. Pedestrians will need to use the footpath on the northern side of the shop.
Around mid-January:
- Works will progress onto the red brick area at Building 42. The Monday market will be maintained.
- Once the works at the bottom end of Admin Road (by Chemistry and Building 35) are complete, excavations will take place at the side of Building 37 (Student Services), and then between Building 37 and University road to join up with the work already completed under the road.
Those undertaking the works are aware of the exam timetable in January and the works will progress in a way that ensures noise is not an issue in exam locations.
It is anticipated all works will be completed by early March 2019.
