Colleagues may be aware of Oxford’s decision to suspend research grants and funding donations with Huawei Technologies.
Our University has a strategic corporate partnership with Huawei and actively manages that relationship for mutual benefit. We plan to continue working with Huawei, but we will keep this under review as we do regularly with the wide range of domestic and international partners with whom we have a relationship.
For further reference, our Financial Statements give details of the funding we have received from Huawei over the last few years.
Examples of projects supported by funding from Huawei include the development of innovative consumer audio (3D) technologies and work experience placements as part of Huawei’s ‘Seeds for the Future’ programme, which send undergraduates to the company’s global headquarters in Shenzen, China.
