Research and Innovation Services: new contact information

The way researchers, academics or students access support for research and enterprise may have changed with the faculty and Research and Innovation Services (RIS) re-structure last year.

RIS brings together businesses, entrepreneur communities, public bodies and world-leading university research staff and students to deliver internationally excellent research, create new knowledge and solve real-world problems.

One of the most significant changes to RIS has been to replace the faculty-based research support roles with centrally located specialists. This support is now aligned to major funders to help build our strategic relationship with them and open up more opportunities for funding across all disciplines.

RIS teams whose way of working has changed most significantly are noted below along with the links for contacting them directly.

Research Funding: The key contact for each major funder is listed on the RIS website. Faculty-aligned contacts can be found at the same link. The funders were primarily identified based on volume and strategic importance. You can contact [email protected] to discuss other funders, and RIS will explore what support can be given.

Corporate Partnerships: Key contacts for our corporate partners are here. The priority list of corporate partners was primarily identified based on volume of activity and strategic importance. You can contact Chris Lord to discuss corporate partners not currently represented, and RIS will explore what support can be given.

Business Engagement: due to the successful award of a number of programmes through the Industrial Strategy, RIS are building a small team supporting business engagement with small and medium enterprises which work closely with our Technology Transfer and Impact teams. Contact [email protected] for more information.

Location: RIS is located in Building 28, but RIS staff will continue to spend time regularly in each faculty.

For all other RIS contacts please visit the website.
