Students are given a number of opportunities to help shape their student experience throughout their studies. If you’re eligible to take part in any of the four surveys outlined below, you’ll receive an email on Thursday 7 February with more details on how to take part.
We’re dedicated to continuously improving your experience, and to do that, we need your help. It is only with your feedback that we can create the best possible university experience for our current and future students.
Did you know we’re giving a £1 donation to the Student Support Fund for every completed survey? Find out terms and conditions.
This Thursday (7 February) is when all surveys will be open for eligible students to take part so Thursday is the start of our Survey Fortnight. Keep an eye on SUSSED and our student social channels for more info.
Southampton Student Survey 2018 (SSS)
Why take part?
The survey aims to explore the factors affecting the student experience and understand how the University can make changes for the better.
The survey includes questions on different areas such as teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, learning community, learning opportunities and much more.
Who can complete it and how?
All undergraduates, not eligible for the NSS, will be emailed a direct link to take part in the survey or they can fill it out by clicking here.
Why take part?
The NSS is a unique opportunity for final year students to give their opinion on their experience at the University. They will have spent at least the last three years at Southampton, so they have an informed opinion, which we value. This national survey is run by Ipsos MORI so make sure you keep a lookout for an email from them.
The results of the NSS are factored into the University’s planning process and their participation in the NSS can be a legacy that helps us directly improve the experience of Southampton students.
Who can complete it and how?
All eligible final year students will receive their own individual link by email or they can fill it out by clicking here.
Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)
Why take part?
This is an opportunity to tell us about your postgraduate taught experience, what works well and what could be better.
Who can complete it and how?
Postgraduate taught students will be emailed a direct link to the online survey or they can fill it out by clicking here.
Postgraduate Research Experience Survey
Why take part?
The survey is your chance to tell us about your experience being a research postgraduate. This survey is carried out by institutions across the country and lets us know what’s working well and how we can improve the PGR experience at Southampton.
Who can complete it and how?
Postgraduate researchers will be emailed a direct link to the online survey or they can fill it out by clicking here.
Didn’t receive the email? Check your junk folder in case it went in there.
