Reminder of how staff can support the student experience surveys

One week since the launch, over 2,600 students have shared their feedback in the surveys. Faculties have also been getting involved in Survey Fortnight, where a number of events have taken place to engage students with the surveys.

Find out how you can play your part in encouraging students to participate in one of the four student experience surveys open now.

Did you know around 40 per cent of last year’s online National Student Survey (NSS) respondents said they were told about the survey by a lecturer or member of staff? Read our top three ways you can support in raising awareness of the surveys below.

  1. There’s still time to get involved in Survey Fortnight
Survey Fortnight has officially started and there’s still a week to get involved. There has been focused promotions highlighting all of the surveys across these opening two weeks. Please note: All surveys will be open until the end of April. We’re encouraging colleagues to support the surveys and raise awareness to students within our faculties, facilities and services. If you’re planning to run any survey-related events, we’d recommend holding them during Survey Fortnight.
  2. Use the email signature
Do you regularly email students? Help us get the message out there by using our surveys email signatures. Find instructions and download the signatures here.

  3. Use the shout outs at the beginning and end of lectures
If you’re one of our many teaching staff, you’re invited to use the survey presentation and shout out PowerPoint slides at the beginning and end of lectures. A short presentation explaining the surveys can be downloaded here and a single page reminder slide to use at the start or end of each lecture can be downloaded here.

By taking a few minutes to fill out the survey, students are helping to raise up to £10,000 for the Student Support Fund.  Find out terms and conditions.

Thank you to all of our staff who have supported with the surveys so far. If you manage any social channels aimed at students, feel free to join the conversation about the National Student Survey using: #NSSHaveYourSay.
