National disruption to motorways

We have been made aware that the Brexit Direct Action Group could potentially cause disruption across UK motorways for a period of two to three days, beginning Friday 22 March.

The group intend to use HGVs and other vehicles to deliberately block roads and slow traffic, according to information from the Cross-sector Safety and Security Communications (CSSC) partnership.

On Monday 25 March this could affect the M3 Junction 6 in Basingstoke in both directions at around 06:30.

We would suggest that you check social media accounts such as BBC South on Twitter and Facebook, or travel Twitter accounts Romanse, Southampton Travel, or Highways England, or BBC local radio for road conditions before travelling to help with journey planning.
