In 2018, Women in Science Engineering and Technology (WiSET) welcomed humanities and became WiSET+.
To celebrate this, and the significant role women play in research and teaching at our University, WiSET+ are inviting creative responses based on the theme ‘Women in Academia’.
As a working partnership with John Hansard Gallery, Winchester School of Art, and the intersectionalities: Identities Politics Cultures Research Group (iPIC), the project is expected to be a fantastic display of creativity and talent.
You may wish to highlight the work of a female colleague, tutor or student, or a significant role model from history. You can explore the theme in any way you wish and your piece can be in any medium (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, poetry, film, textiles, clay, digital etc.), and of any size.
Anyone can take part and you do not have to work at the University or be in an academic role to submit an entry.
Entries will be exhibited at John Hansard Gallery and The Winchester Gallery at Winchester School of Art this summer (2019). All entrants will be invited to the opening of the exhibition and the awards presentation.
It’s simple and free to enter, just complete the intention to submit form by 5 April 2019. Bursaries for materials may be available by discussion.
If you have any questions please email [email protected] or visit the WiSET+ website.
