Winnie Eley, Vice President International, commented:

“The Global Partnership Award Scheme is a great opportunity open to all University employees to further strengthen research and education collaborations with our worldwide priority partners.  Please be encouraged to attend one of the briefing events and to apply, particularly if your proposal is interdisciplinary and involves or encourages multilateral partnerships.”

The Global Research Initiator Scheme supports joint international research or education-related activities with an international dimension that are at an early stage of development. Funding up to £5,000 is available for early career researchers to visit an international priority partner to establish and cultivate research links at an institutional and individual level. Academic staff can also apply for funding up to £15,000 to lead workshops to develop research, teaching or capacity-building projects.

The Global Visiting Fellowship Scheme enables distinguished visiting staff to collaborate with the University on a range of research and profile-raising activities over a three-year period. This non-salaried fellowship is supported through funding of up to £15,000 to cover travel and subsistence costs associated with the fellowship.

Both schemes are open only for activities that involve the University’s international priority partners. The list of eligible partners and application pack are available to download from the Global Funding Opportunities Sharepoint site.

The deadline to receive applications for projects seeking funding for the period between August 2019 and July 2020 is 12 noon on Monday 13 May 2019.
