As part of our continued investment in our infrastructure and student experience, this summer we will be refurbishing the swimming pool changing rooms at the Jubilee Sports Centre.
These changing rooms are very heavily used, and with changing customer demands, feedback from recent consultation has told us that they need to operate in a different way. We need to be able to give more flexibility to different user groups, providing more privacy whilst maintaining the community feel that many people value.
The proposed new layout features a unisex changing area with private, personal cubicles and showers, and two group change areas, including showers that will be open to users as male and female changing areas for most of the day. This will allow people to make a choice about their preferred changing environment. The updated space will also include a costume spinner and a complete replacement of the shower system.

The works will commence straight after exams in July and continue throughout the summer. The pool is planned to remain open, making use of the alternative changing rooms outside the sports hall.
