Staff and students who regularly use Southampton Common are invited to a Green Travel Workshop on Wednesday 24 April at 19:00, at Avenue Campus.
The workshop, led by members of the Southampton Common Forum (SCF), will bring together the results of SCF’s census of cyclists and pedestrians commuting on The Common, undertaken in collaboration with the City Council; the results of their recent online survey of views of commuters on the Common; and the interim report by the SCF’s Working Group on Safety and Green Travel.
Together, these three elements provide one of the most comprehensive studies on green commuting undertaken in the UK. They raise the question of whether a more strategic view should be taken of travel across Southampton Common.
The workshop is free and open to everyone. It will be an opportunity for all members of the public who are interested in these matters to deepen their own understanding and contribute their views.
Register for the workshop here.
Please arrive at 19:00 for a 19:25 start. The meeting will end at 21:30. Light refreshments will be provided.
Attendees will be notified via Eventbrite of the exact venue at Avenue Campus closer to the time, once it is clear how many will attend.
