Do you have knowledge of long term health conditions and the ambition to help the Health Sciences School develop their healthcare education?
A voluntary group of patients and carers which works closely with Health Sciences is now looking for new members.
The group is called EbE and is made up of people who either have long term conditions or care for people with long term conditions.
They share their knowledge and experience with Health Sciences which helps in the development of the curriculum, governance and recruitment. Their contributions have been recognised by the School of Health Sciences and professional bodies.
Professor Anne Baileff, Deputy Head of School (Education) said:
“The EbE group have really enriched the education we provide by constructively challenging values and bringing diverse and fresh perspectives to students and staff. This ensures that our students truly understand the importance of working in partnership with patients and their carers to promote self-management, independence and maximise health outcomes.
The School is delighted that the significance of the EbE group’s contribution was recognised and commended at each of our recent validation events for our PG and UG programmes and across all of our disciplines.”
If you, or someone you know, would like to use your/their experiences of health services to shape education, please contact Mary Charlton (EbE Chairperson) on: [email protected]
