Around 500 staff and students engaged with this year’s Wellfest – a celebration of all things related to our wellbeing.
Held last Wednesday 15 May and delivered as part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2019, Wellfest was organised by colleagues in Enabling Services and Student Life. On the day there were taster sessions, activities such as mini-massages and a range of stalls with information from wellbeing services, voluntary organisations and more.
Having become a firm favourite among members of our University community, Wellfest was held for its third consecutive year.

Ian Dunn, Chief Operating Officer and Wellbeing Champion, commented on his visit to Wellfest 2019:
“I would like to thank all of the staff, members of the Students’ Union and external organisations who planned and executed a superb Wellfest day last week.
“The vibe of Garden Court was an invigorating combination of demonstrable care for our community, excitement at what we are doing and real professionalism in the support we can offer. I learnt a huge amount speaking with people on the various stands and also by participating in a meditation workshop.
“It is early days but we are planning on taking a smaller version of Wellfest to our other campuses.”
Staff can find a number of wellbeing resources on the Health and Wellbeing SharePoint site (part of the wider Health and Safety SharePoint).
It’s so important for us all to look after our physical and mental wellbeing. The University is committed to supporting our wider community, and we encourage you to email your thoughts and ideas to Ian: [email protected]
