Over the weekend there has been media coverage of a legal case involving the University and a former member of staff.
The media reported that the University was not present to give its evidence at a recent Employment Tribunal, and as a result the claims against the University were upheld and a very substantial payment was ordered.
The University has ordered an urgent investigation by its independent auditors into why it was not able to present its evidence at the Tribunal.
The University categorically denies the claims made, and we have today commenced legal proceedings to get the judgement overturned.
