All staff and students are welcome to attend, there is no need to book in advance.

Professor Carlsson is a world expert in algebraic topology, a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society, and founder of Ayasdi – a company which develops cutting edge data-analytic methodologies based on topology.

Professor Carlsson will discuss topological techniques which are proving useful in making sense of large data sets, and how this fact has important consequences for artificial intelligence.
