A chance to hear from our leading educators

The Teaching and Scholarship Podcast is a collaboration between our Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) and the Medical Education Innovation Network (MEIN), based in the Faculty of Medicine.

The podcast aims to promote and raise the profile of teaching excellence within our University and beyond.

You might have seen the introduction of the podcast in Issue #2 of Staff Matters, our internal staff magazine.

Left: Dr Scott Border, Right: Dr Judith Holloway

Dr Scott Border, Principal Teaching Fellow in Anatomy within Medicine, hosts each podcast, with guests so far including National Teaching Fellows James Wilson (Health Sciences), Professor Simon Kemp (Geography and Environmental Sciences) and Professor David Read (Chemistry, Science Foundation Year and CHEP).

In June’s episode, Dr Judith Holloway, Programme lead for MSc Allergy, talks about her internationally-leading work in the field of allergy education, where her innovative techniques and practices led to a National Teaching Fellowship in 2017.

Scott chats to Jude about her passion for teaching and her insights into teaching excellence, the role of technology in education and her innovative approaches towards taught postgraduate education.

Further podcasts will be released each month, with Scott speaking to more educational leaders and innovators from Southampton and elsewhere. The Teaching and Scholarship Podcast is available online here, and you can also subscribe on iTunes and Google Music.
