Whether you’ve recently joined us or just returned to your studies, we hope you’ll settle in well to the new academic year.
As you’ve hopefully found so far, university can be a very exciting time, but it is also perfectly normal to feel homesick at some point too. If you’re feeling homesick, you’re not alone. Have a look at these top tips to overcoming homesickness and always remember the University has plenty of resources and services available to support you.

- Student Life – a support service who are available to all of our students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call them on Tel: +44 (0)23 8059 8180 or email: [email protected]. The team are based in all our halls and all students are welcome to pop by and see them for a chat, whether you stay in halls or not.
- Nightline – a student-run confidential service, offered by the Students’ Union, providing emotional support and information every night during term-time from 20:00 – 08:00. You can chat to them online or call them on: +44(0)23 8059 5236.
- The Advice Centre – a service run by the Students’ Union, providing free, independent and confidential support to all students. Contact the team on Tel: +44(0)23 8059 2085 or email: [email protected]
- The Samaritans – a registered charity that provides emotional support to anyone in distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call them for free on Tel: 116 123 or email: [email protected]
