Disability and Employability Student Event

Do you want to know more about how employers could support your transition into working life if you have a disability, specific learning difficulty (e.g. dyslexia) or long-term health condition?

This month the Careers Service we will be holding their fifth Disability and Employability event, designed to give you confidence and answer any questions or concerns you may have about entering the workplace.

Date and time: Wednesday 23 October, 14:00 to 16:00

Location: Building 34, Room 2003, Highfield Campus

You can find further information and book your place here.

Careers will be welcoming a range of speakers to talk about their own experiences and provide personal insights of either working with a disability or supporting others in the workplace.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and talk individually to the speakers, including Samuel Tyler from the Civil Service Fast Stream, Paul Hanrahan from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, James Childs-Clarke from KPMG and Kate Eyres and Jean Piernicki from University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

A student who attended last year’s event said of the speakers:

“…they gave their personal experience which was very moving and important.”

Please note: This is a tailored event for students who have a disability, specific learning difficulty or long-term health condition.
