Colleagues in iSolutions recently gathered to discuss proposals for the reorganisation of the department. This meeting marked the start of a preliminary consultation period for staff, in which they will have the opportunity to contribute to the proposed changes.
The vision for the future of iSolutions is to ensure an effective, efficient and agile IT function that truly partners with faculties and professional services to deliver an excellent staff and student experience, while taking on board various pressures, including the need for enhanced cybersecurity and the University’s budgetary constraints.
Mal Allerton, Executive Director of iSolutions, said:
“We recognise that this is a difficult and uncertain time for our colleagues within iSolutions, and we are aiming to be as supportive and transparent as we can, ensuring colleagues are fully consulted, and get the opportunity to influence the proposals.
“All the team has access to a range of documentation, we are updating FAQs on a regular basis and the senior team is holding weekly drop-ins so we can keep talking openly with each other. We aim to maintain high levels of service, but would ask for your patience and understanding, as we embark on this process.
“Our Trade Unions have also been engaged – we have met with them several times, they have provided feedback on the proposals and they joined our recent department meeting.”
The iSolutions Leadership Team will be engaging with senior management across the University over the next few weeks, to provide an update on the proposed changes and discuss what these may mean to their individual faculties or departments. They will also provide more detailed information that can be discussed and shared with teams.
