Occupational Therapy (OT) is a healthcare profession that focuses on developing, recovering or maintaining the daily living, working and leisure skills for all people experiencing physical, mental or cognitive impairments.
To celebrate National Occupational Therapy Week, our University’s sensory room and rehabilitation flat (the activities of daily living flat) will be open for staff and students to visit.
You can visit either space from 12:00 – 13:00 each day from Monday 4 to Friday 8 November. The sensory room can be found in room 2015, Building 67, Highfield Campus, while the flat is room number 2019 in the same building. OT staff and students will be available to answer questions, and to showcase a range of occupation based interventions.
You can also visit the stand in the Building 67 foyer every lunchtime this week 12:00 – 13:00. You can practice your #SmallChangeBigImpact by:
- Supporting the Romsey Young Carers bake sale this Wednesday
- Trying the international Daily Step Challenge
- Finding out about the student #OTRocks challenge
- Entering the competition to name the Sensory Room Bunny
Occupational Therapy at our University is going from strength to strength. The OT Team recently won a Vice-Chancellor’s Award for International Engagement, Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy placed first in the Complete University Guide 2020, and a new OT MSc course is expected to launch in January 2020.
