The appraisal window for Level 7 staff runs each year from September to the end of December. Quality conversations form the heart of appraisals and to support these there is eLearning for appraisees on Blackboard.
To ensure the appraisal conversation is meaningful, it is recommended that appraisees prepare, if they have not already, by:
- agreeing a date to meet with their appraiser (if not already in the diary)
- two weeks prior to the discussion, carrying out a self-assessment and recording it in the online appraisal form in MyHR Dashboard
During the appraisal conversation, the appraisee will then be prepared to:
- talk through their contribution in the year up to 31 August 2019, considering how they have made an impact and contributed to successes, and
- share their thoughts for objectives for the year up to 31 August 2020 and how they fit with the wider expectations for their faculty or Professional Services.
Before the deadline of 31 December 2019, a summary of the conversation should be recorded in the online appraisal form in MyHR Dashboard. The ‘overall contribution summary’ page is representative of the conversation: both appraisees and appraisers should use this page to explain clearly, for the moderation panel, how the rating reflects the level of contribution.
