Deadline approaching: Student Innovation Projects

Would you like to develop your business acumen by working with a local company or non-profit organisation to create inventive ways to solve problems and help their business thrive?

The Student Innovation Project (formerly Business Innovation Programme) provides students with the opportunity to work alongside other students from different degree disciplines and year groups. You will be presented with an issue that your client is facing and you will work together to identify solutions, and present recommendations at the end of the programme.

What will I be doing?

Working in student teams you will be given a brief from a real organisation requiring your help in finding solutions to their business issues. Over 6 weeks you will research their market and industry and analyse what will help the business improve.

What will I learn?

You will learn how to put together a business report before presenting your findings as a team to the organisation. This opportunity is designed to help you build tangible work experience useful for students studying any degree. Some of the skills you’ll learn include team work, resilience, creativity and time management along with learning how to communicate with business professionals.

What support will I get?

The Work Experience Team, within the Careers and Employability Service, will ensure you are fully prepared and will facilitate a training programme prior to projects commencing and support you throughout the 6 weeks. You must be available on Thursday 30 January for a half day training session.

Interested? Find out more and apply here. Applications close on Sunday 10 November.
