20MINFOUNDER: Reuben Wilcock, Blackfinch Ventures – Four startups, one exit and the wonderful world of Venture Capital

Future Worlds’ next 20MINFOUNDER event takes place tomorrow, Thursday 5 December, 18:00 – 19:00, Building 32 and will see the return of award-winning serial entrepreneur and Future Worlds founder Reuben Wilcock, who will share the highs and lows of his journey spanning academia, startups and Venture Capital. His early successes in bringing consumer electronics devices to market led Reuben to co-found smart home energy spinout, Joulo, which won the British Gas startup award in 2013 and was later acquired by Quby.

Reuben has extensive product design experience with deep technical knowledge of hardware, software, IoT and manufacturing, is an inventor on 5 patents and named author on over 45 peer reviewed publications ranging from integrated circuit design to genetic algorithms. Reuben joined Blackfinch Investments in 2019 and is now Ventures Director, heading up the Blackfinch Ventures EIS Portfolio, which invests in early stage tech startups.
