Participants required for simulation study: Communicating with a driverless car

The Human Factors Engineering team are conducting an experiment exploring how people interact with interfaces in automated vehicles. The study has one part, lasting no more than 2 hours; you will complete the experiment in one session with time for breaks. In each trial, you will try out a prototype interaction style with a simulated driverless vehicle. You will provide us with valuable data indicating which interaction style is more suitable for future autonomous technology. The study will be conducted in the Southampton University Driving Simulator. Participants will be gifted £10 to cover out of pocket travel expenses and as compensation for their time spent participating in the study.

Criteria: Must hold a full driving licence and have driving experience. Participants must not be barred from driving. The full session should last approximately one and a half hours.

Ethics ID: 52008

The study will close on 14 February 2020.
