Your Health, Your Wellbeing – Dry January

For many of us, especially at this time of year, alcohol can play a big part in our lives. We might drink to celebrate, to socialise, to wind down, or even as a coping mechanism. However, there are many benefits associated with stopping drinking, including reducing your calorie intake and saving money.

This new year, why not try going dry for January? Health, Safety & Risk (HSR) will be offering weekly drop in sessions throughout January to provide those taking part with helpful tips and distractions, as well as the opportunity to share their experiences with others.

The team will also be offering the chance for people to have their body composition and blood pressure measured at the first and final sessions, to see if stopping drinking changes their initial results.

If you’re a member of staff and you’d like to take part in the weekly sessions, please send your name and email address to: [email protected] – members of the HSR team will be in touch with more information, including the dates, times and locations of the sessions.

You can find more information on Dry January here.
