Events will be taking place over two days, Saturday 25 January and Saturday 8 February 2020.
Saturday January 25
10:30 – 13:00 (free entry – register your place here) in Guildhall Square, Southampton:
- Chinese New Year Day Parade
- Interactive workshops

13:30 – 15:30 at the O2 Guildhall, Southampton (ticket prices vary, book your place here):
- Chinese Opera
- Kung Fu performances
- Acrobats
- Comedians
- Musicians
- Arts and culture activities
- Chinese food, and more.
Saturday 8 February
15:30 – 19:00 (free entry – register your place here) starting at Southampton’s Bargate before travelling down the high street and finishing in Guildhall Square):
- Chinese lantern parade
- Traditional activities.
Hosted by the UK Shaolin Temple in collaboration with Southampton City Council, the Chinese Association of Southampton and our University’s Confucius Institute (CI) as well as a number of local businesses and organisations.
