The University has received a formal notice of intent to take further industrial action from the University and College Union (UCU) over the national issues of pay and/or pension* reform.
The planned dates for action will start on Thursday 20 February 2020, with further strike action taking place on 21, 24, 25, 26 February 2020 and 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 March 2020.
The University respects the right of trade union members to take industrial action and will provide clear policies to help colleagues better understand how this will affect their pay and pensions.
Commitment to our students
Meeting our commitments to our students and providing every opportunity for them to achieve their potential is always our highest priority, including the time we lead the University community through a period of industrial action.
We will work with SUSU and other colleagues throughout the University to put in place the arrangements necessary to ensure that our students continue to receive a world-class education at Southampton.
We know that all of our colleagues care deeply about the education of our students and the wider activities of our University, and we will work to mitigate the impact of any action on our community.
We will continue to post updates as new information becomes available.
