Aura Vision – From PhD to Y Combinator and raising a million
Future Worlds’ 20MINFOUNDER series brings founders from disruptive businesses onto campus to share inspiring startup stories and valuable tips for aspiring entrepreneurs. The next talk takes place on Thursday 20 February, 18:00 – 19:00, Building 32, Lecture Theatre 1015 and will be led by Aura Vision founder, Daniel Martinho-Corbishley.
In this 20MINFOUNDER talk, Daniel will share his amazing adventure from PhD research to launching a company working with global brands. Come and hear the inside story of a journey from pitching in the 2017 Future Worlds Dragons’ Den and securing support from the Z21 Innovation Fund to gaining entry to Silicon Valley’s Y Combinator in 2019, which is widely regarded as the world’s leading programme for launching startups including Dropbox, Airbnb and Stripe.
Aura Vision uses computer vision and existing security cameras to deliver the clearest view of performance. Once they have a clear view of performance, they can start to spot previously unseen patterns and trends, whilst correlating costs to revenue and identifying the drivers for success in stores.
