Skype for Business soon to be replaced by Microsoft Teams

Microsoft have confirmed that Skype for Business will be retired. To ensure the university is using supported applications, we will be retiring Skype for Business from our application offering by August 2020.

As a replacement service for Skype for Business, the Office 365 application, Teams, is available to all staff and students. This includes all of the current functionality of Skype for Business. Microsoft Teams is available to all staff and students as part of Office 365.

This change only relates to Skype for Business, linked to your University account, it does not affect personal Skype accounts that you may use.

To ensure staff know how to use Microsoft Teams as the replacement for Skype for Business we are running a number of seminars.
