Aspire Awards: What could you do with £1,000?

What could you do with £1,000?

Applications for this year’s Aspire Awards close on 28 February 2020. The awards are available each year to help our undergraduate students enrich their university experience by helping to fund their dream projects. There are up to 20 awards of £1,000 each that will be given to those projects our judges consider to be both realistic and deserving.

Last year, some of the projects that received Aspire Awards included:

  • Hybrid Rocket Space Flight: a project to send a rocket designed and built by students into space
  • Mental Health Volunteering Abroad: a four-week placement training, exploring, and developing an insight into mental health in Tanzania.
  • Benthic Ecology Investigation: a project based in the Arctic looking into how ecosystems on the sea floor influence ocean flows and currents

Previous winners have said:

“I am very grateful to have been in receipt of this award. I would strongly suggest that if you have a project, and are thinking about applying to the Aspire Award, stop thinking and apply!”
