Prevention remains the best form of protection against the spread of viruses. Reduce your risk of infection by:

  • Frequently cleaning your hands with soap and water, or by using alcohol-based hand sanitiser if washing facilities are unavailable;
  • Covering your mouth and nose with a mask or tissue when coughing and sneezing – throw tissue away immediately and wash hands;
  • Avoiding close contact with anyone who has a fever and a cough;
  • Seeking medical care early and sharing previous travel history with your health care provider If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing;
  • Ensuring that you are registered with a local NHS general practitioner (GP).

Students and staff are reminded to visit our dedicated webpage for information and guidance relating to the global outbreak of COVID-19.
