Following the Easter break the University will be moving to online learning for the remainder of the semester for all students. We recognise that this might present challenges to some students who may not have the required equipment to successfully access their studies so, as of Monday 20 April the University will be launching Online Learning Grants to help students to purchase essential equipment.
These grants are a non-repayable award of up to £300 to help you to purchase the essential hardware or internet access you need to successful continue your studies. You can apply through our Financial Support website by completing an application form and each application will be considered by our Funding Team.
Please be aware that funding is limited and if we are oversubscribed awards we will award based on individual need.

FAQS
Can I apply for a learning support grant?
All students can apply for a grant of up to £300 and the fund is open both to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
When will I know if I have been awarded?
We are aiming to get through the applications as quickly as possible and will assess each application as it is received.
I need equipment which costs more than the £300 offered, can I top this up with my own money?
You can use this money to purchase equipment which is slightly more expensive however if you do have the money available please ensure that you consider students who may be less able to purchase their own equipment before you apply.
Will I need to provide receipts proving purchase?
We may be in contact with students to request proof of purchase for the equipment and if you are unable to provide this may request the funding to be repaid.
Do I have to pay this money back?
No, these grants are non-repayable but if you are unable to provide proof of purchase, we may request that you repay this funding.
