Transition to online learning and engagement week

Today is the start of your transition to online learning and engagement week.

This week has been designed to enable you to adapt to your new teaching environment of remote education, test out the various tools which will be of essential use to you and for you to feel confident and ready to reconnect with your studies. Each day we have scheduled a number of activities for you to undertake which will help you connect to the systems you need, access online resources and support services, make contact with your teaching teams and engage with our student community via the Student’s Union (SUSU).

You can access the activities for the week by:

  • Connecting to your Faculty Student Hub on Blackboard:

All the information you need is in your Faculty Student Hub, you can find these in Blackboard.

Your timetable for this transition week will signpost the resources and study that we recommend you engage with during each day and the order in which you should do so. It will also provide the framework through which staff will deliver any live sessions.

We are aware that students are in all parts of the world, in different time zones and with variable access to computing equipment and internet, so all live sessions will be recorded.

Opportunities for communicating with your staff and peers will be made outside of these sessions and so you can study the topics and content identified on your timetables and module pages at the time that works best for you.

If you have issues accessing either of these systems, or need support getting online ServiceLine will be able to help. You can log your IT issue online or for urgent enquires you can contact ServiceLine on +44 (0)23 80 595656. The phones line are open from 10:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday.
