Today, the University is starting to set out expectations about what is likely to be a very gradual return to campus, with the continuing safety and wellbeing of our staff and students foremost in our decision making.
For some staff, the next few months will involve a further extended period of time off-campus and for other colleagues, a very gradual return to work, which may include coming to campus less frequently than before. For the small number of staff who have permission to be on campus at the moment, some are using cars to get to work and using our car parks, who would not usually do so, as part of their social distancing.
Given this, we are suspending car parking charges as of 1 May 2020. The usual monthly deductions from permit holders’ salaries will not be taken in the May payroll or until further notice.
We will review this periodically, in line with the development of plans for a safe return to campus.
