Library to offer access to Coursera until end of September 2020

The Library is pleased to offer University of Southampton staff and students free and time-limited access to Coursera until the end of September 2020.

Coursera is the world’s largest learning platform, used by 58 million people around the world and features content from 200 university and industry partners. The Coursera catalogue contains high quality, online content in almost all subject areas including Business, Finance, Medical, English, Sciences, IT, and Data through to Personal Health and Wellbeing, as well as Professional Development courses.

Through the agreement with Coursera you will be able to search from a catalogue of 3,000 modules and gain certificates from 200 Universities such as Yale, Michigan, Imperial College, University of London, University of Melbourne and Duke. Additionally, you can also earn certificates from industry partners like Google, Goldman Sachs, IBM and others.

If required, Coursera can also support academics in identifying specific modules that they would like to make available for students, alongside the entire catalogue.

There will be no cost for users to take courses or to earn certificates. Students will have until the 30 September 2020 to enrol and complete courses and gain a certificate.

If you would like additional information please attend this 20 minute online introduction from Coursera at 10am on Friday 26 June where you can hear more about how to access and use the Coursera catalogue. There will be 10 minutes for Q&A to follow. Join the Zoom Meeting here.
