Collecting your belongings: private rented accommodation

As the University prepares to welcome students back for Autumn term we are working with SUSU to provide support to those students collecting their belongings from private rented accommodation.

The University has paid for Southampton City Council to run two additional waste collection days on Saturday 27 June and Wednesday 1 July.

As no charity shops or standard recycling points are operating, students are asked to take as many of their belongings with them as possible. Many existing recycling collection points have been sealed by Southampton City Council. Students are asked to avoid ‘side waste’ i.e. bags that are not in your bin, and anything left on the pavement.

Food banks are the exception to this, Southampton City Mission are still running with collection points in supermarkets. You can find a full list here.
