In the Southampton Bite-Size Lecture Series this week, the Engagement and Advancement Events team is releasing the highlights of an inaugural lecture delivered at the opening of the Stefan Cross Centre for Women, Equality and Law in 2018.
We hear from Stefan himself, leading UK employment lawyer and Southampton alumnus, who gives a thorough and fascinating background to the Equal Pay Act. Stefan explores how women have fought strongly for equal pay rights throughout the years and outlines the key role he played in ensuring equal pay for equal work.

In case you’ve missed any of the previous releases from the series, you can catch up on all of them on the Southampton Connects page. Speakers from past weeks include Jon Sopel, alumnus and BBC North America Editor, Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand, and Baroness Patricia Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.
Brand new lectures will also be uploaded to the page every Thursday. They’re the perfect length to watch on your lunch break!
