Staff Achievement Awards – adaptations in response to COVID-19

As you will have read in the Vice-Chancellor’s email yesterday (1 July), in response to the challenges presented by COVID-19 all areas are making adaptations in light of a heightened focus on financial sustainability. This is the context for changes and developments set out below, in relation to Staff Achievement Awards.

Changes to Staff Achievement Awards

We are introducing some temporary changes to ensure that this important way of recognising excellence can continue in a sustainable way, while we are responding to the financial challenges presented by the current pandemic:

  • All nominations will now be considered by a central governance panel that will meet monthly.
  • There will be a temporary cap of £1,000 per individual.

Going forward, senior managers should please submit nominations for Staff Achievement Awards to the Reward and Recognition team in Human Resources. The team can be contacted by emailing [email protected]
