This week’s lecture: Population and Migration

In the Southampton Bite-Size Lecture Series this week, the Engagement & Advancement Events Team is releasing a lecture that was delivered as part of the 2018 Public Lecture Series. We hear from Andy Tatem, Professor of Spatial Demography and Epidemiology at the University, who gives an inspiring talk on Population and Migration.

In the 20-minute video, Andy explains the changing environment of population and migration, how Southampton, working in collaboration with the UN, is supporting the tracing of worldwide movement through mobile phones, and the impact of accurate data on world health and vulnerable groups.

We wanted to let you know that we will now be pausing on our Bite-Sized series. Highlights from the past 11 weeks include Jon Sopel, alumnus and BBC North America Editor, Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand, and Baroness Patricia Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, which you can watch again on the Southampton Connects page.

Keep an eye out for a future SUSSED post with details of new speakers later this year.
