We are pleased to announce the start dates for our digitisation and click & collect service for books available on the shelves at Hartley Library.
Digitised items
From Wednesday 8 July you will be able to request a digitised book chapter or extract from items in Hartley Library stock to support your study, teaching or research. A small team of Library staff will be in the building to process the requests but there will be no entry to the building for other staff or students. You can request digitised items via the Requests & Document Supply option in WebCat.
Click & collect
From Monday 13 July we will be operating a click & collect service, allowing you to reserve books available in the Hartley Library and collect them from the Hartley foyer. You can place requests using the Place a Hold option in WebCat. We will let you know by email when your book(s) are ready and you can collect them (contact free) at the Hartley Library between 11am and 3pm Monday-Friday. Please note that you may have to queue and we ask you to respect physical distancing.
Initially these services will cover stock available at Hartley (excluding Archives & Special Collections) but we are working to open up the services to include our other libraries.
Book returns
We also welcome book returns from our final year students to the book returns slot to the right of the Hartley entrance, or to the University Halls Reception at Mayflower, Glen Eyre or Wessex Lane. Finalists in Winchester can return books at Erasmus Park Reception. If you are not a finalist, please keep hold of your books, which have all been automatically renewed until September 30 2020.
We are working to develop comprehensive plans to open our physical spaces but will only introduce these services when it is safe to do so.
Full details of all of our services are available on our webpages and do please continue to use our live chat and email to keep in touch.
