Safe listening spaces – let’s talk about race

Does history seem to be repeating itself? Why does it take a brutal event to act as the catalyst for conversation on racism and inequalities that has existed for over centuries?

If you want to be heard and help shape a different course of action, we want you to join us at one of the safe listening spaces that will be facilitated by the UoS BAME Staff Network and the University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team.

We have made a conscious decision to run a series of sessions for BAME staff and a separate series of sessions for staff who identify as white. We want to create a safe space where we can have open conversations without the fear of judgement. We plan that these sessions will be followed with a series that is open for all to have broader conversations about equality and inclusion.

The output from these sessions will help us shape a plan for our University community at both an individual and organisational level to champion these most important causes.

If you would like to join one of the sessions then please contact  Gwendoline, Bhupinder or Camilla letting us know which session you like to join.
