Are you a driver who would like to develop your road safety awareness when interacting with cyclists on the road?
If yes, then the Transportation Research Group (TRG) is running a research project that might interest you. Funded by the Road Safety Trust and in partnership with CyclingUK, the project offers an online, self-directed, training course aimed at increasing participants’ knowledge and skills when interacting with cyclists on the road.
If you take part in the study you will be asked to complete a short pre-training questionnaire (taking about 10 minutes) and will be sent log-in details to access the course, which you can complete in your own time. Afterwards you will be asked to complete a post-training questionnaire and will be invited to participate in an on-road training component, as soon as the TRG is able to run it. Everyone who completes the study will receive a £10 Amazon voucher and will also be entered into a raffle to win one of two £50 amazon vouchers.
If enhancing your road safety skills sounds of interest, and you are a driver who never or rarely cycles, then please get in touch with the research team by emailing Joy Richardson at [email protected].
The TRG will also be running a similar course for cyclists in the near future, so watch this space for further information.
