The Library is pleased to announce that the new Reading List System for the University of Southampton will be Talis Aspire.
Anna O’Neill, Director of Library Services and Arts Strategy explains: “We had the teaching and learning experience in mind when we selected Talis Aspire. Ensuring that our software providers meet the digital needs of our students, staff and academics has always been important, but never more so than now.
The intuitive, mobile-friendly interface will provide students with seamless one-click access to books, journal articles, videos and other digital resources from the familiar setting of the Virtual Learning Environment.
The system simplifies reading list creation for academics allowing lists to be dynamic, giving students 24/7 online access to the material they need. As an additional benefit, Talis Aspire will streamline Library workflows for digitisation, purchasing new resources and reporting on usage.”
David Errington, CEO at Talis adds “We’re pleased to announce that the University of Southampton has joined the Talis Aspire community.
We look forward to supporting their goals for providing a more digital experience for students. In the current climate, we understand the importance of this, and will work with them to ensure better access to a wide range of online resources.”
Talis Aspire will be integrated with Blackboard, allowing students direct access to their recommended resources from the start of the new academic year. We will provide further details to academics over the next few weeks, including early access to directly upload reading lists and how the Library can provide support.
