From 1 October 2020, UEB have agreed that all staff booking holiday via MyHR Dashboard will have their holiday entitlement calculated in hours.
This change will only affect staff who currently book in days. Part time staff, those with non-standard work patterns and rota’d staff who currently book holiday in hours will be unaffected.
There will be no change to how managers authorise holiday requests.
Moving all staff to booking holiday in hours means:
- Harmonises holiday allowance across the University, delivering a fair, equitable and consistent method
- One consistent message to all staff and managers for all paid absence booking
- Increased flexibility for staff who previously could only book off a day or a half day of holiday
- All staff will have an allowance for bank holidays and closure days as part of the allowance From 1 October each year bank holiday and University closure days that are part of your normal work pattern will be pre-booked leaving you holiday hours for booking flexibly
- A more transparent entitlement calculation method for staff who are awarded additional service-related days
More detailed information regarding this change will be published to managers, affected staff and the wider University through SUSSED, and the HR website prior to the new holiday year.
