Postdoc Appreciation Week (PAW), from 21-25 September, provides everyone with the opportunity to celebrate our amazing postdoc community. We have over 900 research only staff working in every area of the University, with most at the early stage of their career.
Principal Investigators (PIs), postdocs’ colleagues and peers, and Professional Services staff are invited to take time to appreciate the postdocs in their department, School, Faculty and Institute.
Professor Mark Spearing, Vice-President Research and Enterprise, took this opportunity to celebrate postdocs, saying:
“I am writing in appreciation of our post-doctoral researchers. You are truly the foundation of our research excellence as an institution, and I remain constantly aware of the importance of your individual and collective contributions to our performance as a research-intensive university and, in the longer term, our reputation…. Thank you for the great work that you do, and please know that I am deeply committed to doing everything I can to help the University be the best possible place to work and for you to spend time as postdocs.”
Hosted by CHEP, we will be celebrating PAW with a Town Hall event for early career researchers at 11:00 Tuesday 22 September.
