Dr Guilia Felappi and Dr Alex Gregory, colleagues in Philosophy, have created, in collaboration with a colleague at the University of Manchester, two guidelines – Guidelines for Accessible Conferences and Guidelines for Accessible Public Lectures – to help organisers of conferences, workshops and wider public-facing events to ensure that their events are fully accessible.
The guidelines are easy to follow and financially sustainable and have been created with the aim of making conferences a better experience for internal and external attenders who have a disability. The guidelines are fully adopted by the Department of Philosophy and have also been adopted by the British Philosophical Association, and the Mind Association.
Watch the video where Guilia explains what inspired her to create these guides and the importance of making conferences accessible.
