The Embassy of Brazil in the UK is carrying out a new project in the area of science, technology and innovation, which Brazilian members of the academic community at our University might find of interest.
There is a substantial presence of Brazilian academics in the United Kingdom and the Embassy is endeavouring to map the Brazilian scientific diaspora, specifically in the STEM and innovation fields.
One year ago, the Embassy held the 1st Meeting of the Brazilian Science Technology and Innovation Diaspora in the UK in partnership with the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the University of Campinas (Unicamp). This event confirmed the Embassy’s belief in the value of getting a better understanding of the profile of Brazilian academics living in the UK, including for the purpose of informing public policy in Brazil. The exercise is also seeking to showcase the excellence of research centres in UK universities.
