From 5 October 2020, applicants applying to Southampton Postgraduate Taught programmes for 202122 entry will be subject to an Application Assessment Fee of £50.
The fee is per application and may change from year to year. The university will accept payment by debit card, credit card or PayPal. This fee is for the application only and will not be used as payment towards any future tuition fee charges. There is a refund facility in line with the 14-day cooling off period unless the application has already been processed and rejected within this period.
Exemptions
The fee is payable at the point of submission with the following exemptions for applicants who are:
- Former or current University of Southampton students
- A serving member of the British Armed Forces where their tuition fees are paid by the Ministry of Defence (specific to the following programmes only: Postgraduate Credit Education, MSc Education Practice & Innovation, PGCE Professional Development)
- Applying for a healthcare or public health programme where their tuition fees are paid by Health Education England (specific to the following programmes only: PGCert Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with IAPT, PGDip CBT for Anxiety and Depression (IAPT), PGDip (EMHP) Education Mental Health Practitioner, Grad Dip Education Mental Health Practitioner)
- Masters Research or Postgraduate Research Applicant.

Drop in Support Sessions for Staff
A ‘PGT Admissions Surgery’ will be available for 1 hour between 11.00-12.00 Monday to Friday from the 5– 16 October. An invite will be sent out as a Teams Meeting Invite. One of the Admissions team will be available during this time to go over any queries or demonstrate any points in relation to the changes. Please feel free to accept the calendar invite and only drop in when and if you need support.
