Invitation to a talk on neurodiversity today

The UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Machine Intelligence for Nano-electronic Devices and Systems (MINDS CDT) is hosting a talk today by Rachel Craddock on neurodiversity.

This talk is aimed towards the CDT’s PhD cohort but may be of interest to a wider audience. It will cover topics such as ‘What is neurodiversity?’, ‘How does it feel to be neurodivergent?’ and ‘What can we do to support our neurodivergent colleagues?’.

The event runs from 11:00-12:00 on Tuesday 27 October on Teams – click here to join the live event when it starts.

Rachel Craddock is a Technical Consultant and Neurodiversity Lead at Thales, UK. She was diagnosed with Asperger’s in 2013 and is working with her management to explain what neurodiversity is as well as lunch time sessions on neurodiversity. Her personal and very frank approach is appealing as it doesn’t ‘beat around the bush’. Rachel states that there are stereotypes such as ‘Asperger’s is all about the behaviour of boys/men’ but she explains that women who are neurodivergent also need to be highlighted.

Based in Electronics and Computer Science, MINDS CDT has a strong commitment to diversity and this is the first of a series of events it is hosting on diversity.
