Human Worlds Festival, the University’s annual Humanities-based festival organised by the Public Engagement with Research unit (PERu), is back and taking place from Thursday 12 to Sunday 22 November.
Running in November to coincide with the national Being Human festival (#BeingHuman2020), this year’s theme is ‘New Worlds’.
The programme will be completely online with downloadable resources, including immersive experiences in Minecraft and VR, live workshops, talks and performances, all accessible from the safety of your own home.
Featured activities and events include:
- Being Human as Praxis
- the Writers’ Nook
- Southampton Sound Festival
- Mayflower 400 Special
- the Human Worlds Studio
plus recordings of some of the pre-festival events for Black History Month last October, and more.
And, last but not least, do not miss the special live streaming via the UoS Festival YouTube channel of Hands-on Humanities Day Goes Digital on Saturday 21 November, 10:30 – 16:30. The programme is currently being finalised with exciting talks, workshops and performances. Special guests will include artists David Blandy and Larry Achiampong and an exclusive ‘Writers in Conversation’ session with author Tracy Chevalier.
