We’re very pleased to bring you the November issue of your magazine, Staff Matters.
The publication of this issue of Staff Matters coincides with the start of another period of lockdown across England and we’re conscious of the demanding circumstances in which we all find ourselves. With that backdrop we are very happy to feature many remarkable stories from our University community and to recognise a whole host of achievements.
Highlights this month include:
- celebrating the many successes of colleagues
- hearing from Professor Robert Read about the human challenge element in developing a COVID-19 vaccine
- taking a further look behind the scenes at how our campuses have been prepared for this academic year
- speaking to colleagues in the security team about becoming mental health first responders

Do you have a story to share?
Now well in to its second year Staff Matters highlights many facets of life across our University. We never cease to be enthused by the willingness of colleagues to share their stories – do keep sending your photos, texts and videos in, as we’d love to feature as many people, teams and campuses as possible.
